  1. Pressing on the central part of the mirror from the inside, unclip it using a curved screwdriver. In this case, you need to be as careful as possible so as not to accidentally break the mirror element itself.
  2. The second method is more risky, but no less effective. To get the mirror, you need to not forcefully, but sharply hit the mirror body on some soft elastic surface.

Removing the mirror housing from the triangular mount is quite simple; you just need to unhook the spring, unscrew the adjusting rod and remove its pin.

The rear view mirror is assembled and installed in the reverse order.

    • 2 flat screwdrivers (they are used to release the latches).

    • A thin, long screwdriver and a piece of soft cloth (to wrap the screwdriver).

    • 10mm star wrench or regular screwdriver with interchangeable bits.

    1. Remove the triangular trim from the front door.

    2. Disconnect the mirror wiring connector. Do not damage the mirror heating wiring!

    3. Holding the mirror, remove the 3 mounting screws.

    I bought and installed mirrors a year ago (summer 2014).
    Therefore, now I’ll tell you about them already having experience and knowledge)) At that time I had heard a lot about these mirrors (company “POLITECH”, St. Petersburg): they say large glass, good visibility, excellent price-quality combination, various additional functionality, etc. d.

    I decided for myself that I wanted a turn signal on the mirrors, because... in constant maneuvers and lane changes in traffic jams, there is no time to look at the fender of the neighboring car, whether it is turning there or not, but more often you look at the mirrors - because... Most foreign cars come with this function from the factory, so it is very convenient to change rows in traffic. So I decided that I also wanted to be just as informative when rebuilding.

    So the choice: I started looking for at least some Polytech mirrors or analogues with a turn signal. Having gone around about 5-7 stores in the city, I found these only in the last one with a repeater, in chrome and for 2,500 rubles (let me remind you in 2014). The price seemed steep to me. Then I turned to Yandex and found the company’s website and their online store. There are such mirrors with a repeater and EVEN

    with heating cost only 1,440 rubles. I chose the “T-7Ubo” model for myself and the design seemed to look good and the description suited me!

    I think that in order not to drive them around again, I immediately ordered a panoramic mirror for the salon for 300 rubles. Model chosen: VN-2b

    Ordered, paid by card for 1,740 rubles. Delivery to Krasnoyarsk cost either 270 or 310 rubles. I waited 10 days. We arrived, everything was intact, everything was securely packed in a large box with a bunch of newspaper so that it wouldn’t dangle.

    The interior mirror has clips and installation took no more than 2 minutes. There’s nothing to write about here, but the visibility has doubled, if previously I only saw my ear and the edge of the neighbor’s seat, now I saw myself in half my face and the entire interior and the entire rear window!

    But with the outside rear view mirrors everything is much more interesting...

    Installation takes about 7-10 minutes per piece, but connecting it took about 1.5-2 hours. Increased visibility by approximately 1.5 times.

    Pros of these mirrors:

    — increased visibility; — the car driving behind in the twilight and night does not dazzle so much; — the presence of repeaters and heating is already clear! — the repeater (as seen in the photo) is under the mirror, and not on it as in most models, which allows you to see it not only from the front, but from all sides; — the mirrors fold (manually) both towards the door and in the opposite direction in case of interference; — at high speed on the highway — the settings are not lost and the mirrors and visibility remain motionless;

    Cons of mirrors:

    — I’ve read negative things many times, and I agree myself, about the lack of aerodynamics, i.e. when driving in the rain and through puddles, a lot of water and dirt from the mirrors gets onto the side windows and they have to be wiped periodically; — after folding and straightening the mirrors, they need to be slightly adjusted again;

    In general, I am very pleased with the purchase and received two sets of mirrors instead of one at a much lower cost. Unfortunately, the photos that I took a year ago about the difference in reviews have already been lost, but to be honest, the difference is significant.     How to disassemble a side rear view mirror

    It is necessary to disassemble the mirror to repair it. Often this operation is performed if the mirror element needs to be replaced. In this case, the plastic case does not change. Also, the mirror element must be removed if you plan to paint the side mirror housing.

    Disassembling the side mirror is carried out as follows:

    1. The mirror element in the mirror body is secured with plastic latches (2 or 3 latches on each side). To carefully and safely remove the mirror from the case, it is recommended to heat the plastic latches with a simple household hairdryer. In this case, it is important to distribute the heat over the surface of the mirror, and also not to use high heat with a hair dryer. Ignoring this rule may lead to melting of the housing and latches.
    2. Once the latches become softer, you can remove the mirror. This is done using plastic spatulas or a flat screwdriver, which is pre-wrapped with electrical tape (protection from scratches on the body and on the mirror itself);
    3. To remove the mirror, insert a piece of soft rag into the gap between the mirror part and the body, after which you can insert a spatula or screwdriver. The result is a lever that can be used to move the mirror;

    Other ways to remove a car mirror

    If the side mirror is structurally simple or the mirror element is already damaged and requires replacement, to remove the mirror element it may be sufficient to do the following:

    • a soft lining is placed on a flat surface;
    • then you should not hit the lining too hard with the mirror body;

    As a rule, in this case the mirror element “jumps off” from the latches, without damage (this is important for entire rear-view mirrors that are disassembled for repair). Then all that remains is to remove the element completely and carry out repairs.

    However, on simple side mirrors (without heating and electrical adjustments), this method of removing the mirror element can significantly save time and simplify the procedure (if done correctly).
