It moved (backwards in the direction of the car), disengaged and the lid opened.

In principle, it’s not a big hassle, if not for one thing. When I removed the trim behind the seat, my mood dropped, because... I saw that the entrance to the trunk was blocked by a gas cylinder. I struggled until I figured out how to insert the rod to the lock through the gap between the cylinder and the top shelf in order to get where it needed to be.

And I also thought that the hole in the lock body was probably specially made for such an occasion. You can't open it without it.
