We do this along the top and sides of the glass.
5. Now you can remove the glass.
6. Remove the seal from the glass.
7. The seal must be cleaned of dirt.
8. In order to install new glass, we place cardboard or something non-scratching on the hood.
9. Place the new glass on the hood with the outer side down.
10. We put a seal on it.
11. Thread the cord into the seal.
12. In the middle of the lower edge of the glass you need to leave an overlap of the ends of the cord. To make the glass fit more easily, you can lubricate the seal with soapy water or silicone grease.
13. We insert the glass into the opening. Place the glass exactly in the middle. The ends of the cord should be in the cabin.
14. An assistant presses the glass from the outside, and you alternately pull the ends of the cord from the inside so that the seal goes over the edge.
15. First we move the edge of the seal along the bottom. Then we press on the glass from above to lower it down. After this, we pull the cord along the sides and top from the edges to the center.
16. Replace the strut covers, windshield wiper arms and rear view mirror.

Hello everyone) Ever since the purchase, the glass was cracked in the center. The previous owner decided to tear off the mirror tag with a screwdriver, and as a result, a crack went all the way up. And the glass itself was all chipped, so it was decided to go for a new one. I installed it myself, the process is not at all complicated, but you need to proceed with caution

So, let's get started. I decided not to stand on ceremony with the old glass, and simply squeezed it out of the cabin with my feet)
At the same time, to prevent fragments from falling, someone needs to stand and pry the seal from the outside, and pull the glass out without themselves. While I was pressing, another crack appeared, but overall the glass remained in its original shape.
Next, remove the seal and put it on the new glass/put a new seal on the new glass, highlight the one you need. By pressing on the glass from the outside, we begin to carefully remove the rope. It’s best to do this together, one pressing, the other pulling the rope in the cabin. Here was my first joint. I didn’t lubricate the rope with anything, and therefore it went very tightly, and could break the seal, so if you have a WD-shka or something else, it’s better to lubricate it. It seemed like the rope had been taken out and the glass was holding, we pressed it again in a circle, but then jamb number two came out: The rope had to be overlapped
, one end to the other, and I just connected the two ends as in the photo
In fact, nothing bad happened, just a couple of centimeters of the seal did not fit into the groove, and after cutting all my fingers, I still pushed it into place. The two of us managed it in 40 minutes with smoke breaks.
All that remains is to install the rear view mirror. I bought two-component glue at the store specifically for glass. The manufacturer claims that this is the best adhesive for gluing metal and glass. The price tag for it is so-so, 250 rubles for this little thing
I, in turn, declare that the manufacturer is an asshole, this glue does not work. I did everything according to the instructions, waited the same amount of time, glued it, went home and went to bed. This morning I found a mirror on the passenger mat. I gave up on these glass sealants, went to the construction store, bought epoxy glue. I cleaned the glass of the old glue, applied a moment, and after 15 minutes the mirror was already sitting in its place.
