Good day everyone, I’ve been on the Internet for two days now searching for a bunch of wires coming into the connector on the instrument panel. I need to find out which wire the signal is coming from so that the “seat belt not fastened” lamp turns off, and what appears on this contact plus or minus or disappears? There is no such information in repair magazines, but if I simply didn’t see it there, and you poke my nose at it, I won’t be offended, but I’ll say thank you.

On-board computer capabilities

The LCD display accumulates data from a number of programmed sensors. They send information online for decryption and subsequent output.

For example:

  • daily mileage data;
  • remaining fuel;
  • current time;
  • current transmission;
  • temperature outside.

*configuration may vary depending on the technical characteristics and modification of the vehicle.

Switches and levers under the steering wheel

The right switch under the steering wheel is responsible for the window cleaner and washer. The switch turns on electrical circuits when the ignition is on. The switch lever can be moved to the following positions

0 – windshield wiper and washer off

1 – intermittent wiper operation mode is on (non-fixed position)

2 – intermittent wiper operation mode is turned on (fixed position). In intermittent operating mode, the windshield wiper blades make one stroke at regular intervals of several seconds, regardless of the presence of drops on the windshield (in a variant, an automatic wiper control system is installed

3 – low speed windshield wiper enabled

4 – high speed windshield wiper enabled

5 – by moving the lever towards you, the windshield washer is turned on (not a fixed position)

Lada Granta liftback (2019). Guide - part 4

The transition to the time setting mode is made by long pressing the control button 20 (Fig. 29a) when the total mileage counter is displayed. In this case, the clock digits go into flashing mode. Further actions depend on the presence of control keys on the windshield wiper switch. If there are no control keys on the windshield wiper switch, the clock is set by pressing control button 20 (Fig. 29a). When you pause pressing for more than 5 seconds, you go to setting the minutes; setting the minutes is similar to setting the hours. The following pauses of pressing for more than 5 seconds switch to the time zone setting mode, and then to exiting the time setting mode. With a windshield wiper switch with 3 control keys (Fig. 29c), the readings are set using the and keys (item 2, Fig. .29c) . The “RESET” key (pos. 3, Fig. 29c) switches the adjusted parameters in the sequence “hours” - “minutes” - “time zone”. Exit from the time setting mode by pressing the control button 20 (Fig. 29a) or a pause in pressing any key for more than 60 seconds. With a windshield wiper switch with 6 control keys (Fig. 29d), the readings are set using the and keys (pos. 3 and 4, Fig. 29d), and switching the adjusted parameters using the and keys (pos. 1 and 2, Fig. 29d). Exit the time setting mode by pressing the “Menu/Exit” key (pos. 6, Fig. 29d) or pausing to press any key for more than 60 seconds.

Note. In the area of reliable reception of signals from GLONaSS/GPS systems, it is enough to set only the time zone; the hours (taking into account the time zone) and minutes will be set automatically.

Sequence of actions when dismantling the dashboard

The reasons for disassembling and replacing the Grantback liftback dashboard are very varied: damage, installation of a new diode, etc.

  • We unscrew the three mounting bolts around the perimeter. Carefully remove the assembled unit so as not to damage the contact boards, electrical wiring, and terminals;
  • Remove the instrument panel mount for the Lada Granta liftback;
  • To replace the tachometer/speedometer needles, you need to move the lever up a little and turn it counterclockwise.

After the final replacement and maintenance, we reassemble the structure. Self-repair of the front panel of the Grant liftback is completed.

DIY setup

Tool

To configure you will need the following tools:

  • hexagon 6;
  • chipboard sheet, approximately 2 by 3 m;
  • a set of crayons;
  • a couple of old medium-sized newspapers.

Instead of a sheet, you can use a flat vertical surface, for example, a construction fence.

Preparing the car for self-adjustment

A screen in front of the car is made from chipboard. The distance between the front bumper and the sheet is 3–5 meters.

  • Check the tire pressure and pump it up if necessary.
  • Set the position of the sub-corrector to the “zero” position.
  • Turn on the handbrake.
  • A load of approximately 75 kg is placed on the front (driver's) seat.

This is necessary to create the most standard driving situation possible.

Drawing a diagram

When the car is ready, the following diagram is shown on the improvised screen:

Car and screen in front of it

  • A and B - center lines at the centers of the headlights;
  • O - center line of the machine;
  • d is the distance between the axes of the lamps;
  • h is the distance from the centers of the lamps to the ground (garage floor);
  • 1 - horizontal line on which the centers of the headlights are located;
  • 2 - the centers of the light spots are located on this line.

Line 1 is drawn at height h; line 2 is 55 mm lower.

Adjustment

  1. Turn on the low beam.
  2. Cover one of the headlights with newspaper and look at the spot of light displayed on the wall.
  3. The hexagon is used to rotate the corresponding contacts.

A correctly adjusted light output should look like the diagram above. The left side of each spot touches line 2, the intersection points of the horizontal and inclined sections are located exactly on lines A and B.

A test drive is carried out for final adjustment.

Adjusting the headlights of the Lada Granta With normal adjustment of the headlights on the Lada Granta, the low beam should not strongly illuminate the edges of the sidewalks. Even a novice driver can check this and, if necessary, level it.

Refinement of the Granta liftback dashboard

The basic equipment of the dashboard of the Lada Grant “Norma”, “Standard” is quite simple and uninformative. The defect was promptly corrected by manufacturing a new panel sample. It is installed exclusively on the “Lux” modification. An alternative option outside the factory version is provided. In order to increase the information content, a new instrument layout and external design are used:

  • the borders of the instruments are separated by a chrome insert;
  • more space is allocated for a computer monitor;
  • the owner can independently choose the color design of the backlight in order to reduce eye strain;
  • basic (important) information is now displayed at the top of the display.

Information about the Lada Granta instrument panel software

  • turn off the ignition;
  • press and hold the mileage reset button in pause mode;
  • activate the ignition;
  • release the pressed button.

Information about the software version and hardware model will appear on the monitor. The data must be used when purchasing a new shield.

How to set it up

The clock in the VAZ-2190 car is located on the liquid crystal display on the dashboard. The clock numbers are much larger than all the other numbers on the screen. In addition to the time, the display also displays the vehicle's daily and total mileage, fuel consumption and other data.

So, how to set the clock on the Lada Granta? To correctly set the clock on the new VAZ liftback model, you must clearly know where the following controls are located in the car:

  • ignition switch - or, alternatively, side light switch on the dashboard;
  • display control button (daily mileage reset button);
  • windshield wiper control lever (right steering column switch).

The right steering column switch, in addition to all other functions, should scroll through the display operating modes in a circle, displaying information about the car's mileage, fuel consumption and the current time.

Reviews from Lada Granta owners about the functionality of the dashboard

Positive
1.Nikolay, 39 years old: in general, I am satisfied with the information content of the console, the display is bright. True, it shines a little in the sun, but this is not so significant.
2.Konstantin, 41 years old: I bought Grant a year ago in the “Lux” configuration with a new dashboard. I'm 100% satisfied.
3.Vitaly, 44 years old: I bought a Granta in 2013, the old instrument panel was good, but it was deformed after an accident, I replaced it with a new version from the “Lux” version. Identical in fastenings.
4.Dmitry, 37 years old: during a side collision with Renault, the dashboard and dashboard were damaged. I didn’t upgrade to a luxury one, I bought my original one.
5.Vladimir, 39 years old: he will buy Grant second-hand, he is happy with everything, the panel is good and informative. True, at night it is too bright, sometimes it strains the eyesight.
6.Kirill, 45 years old: I work as a taxi driver, I drive all the time, I’m happy with the panel, it’s informative. The on-board computer quickly displays all the necessary data.
7.Vladislav, 34 years old: after a major overhaul, friends recommended installing a new panel from the Luxury configuration, but he left the old one and is happy with everything.
Negative
1.Vladlen, 44 years old: the old instrument panel is not very informative, often displays information and speedometer readings incorrectly. Installed from Lux configuration. Now there are no complaints.
2.Sergey, 33 years old: after the accident, I replaced the front console, including the panel, since the old version was unfinished and damp.
3.Vyacheslav, 39 years old: I drove the original device for a month and replaced it with a luxury version, it is much better and more informative.

Owners' opinions on the functionality of the dashboard were divided, as expected. If we objectively compare the two panel models, then the winner is the “Lux” package. Regarding the duration of operation, efficiency of data output, and accuracy of readings, they are identical. The internal filling is the same, with the exception of the external design.

Increased clearance

The Chevrolet Cruze can additionally lose precious millimeters if engine protection is installed. It’s better not to drive on domestic roads without it. This is still minus a couple of centimeters from the ground clearance. And if you load the trunk and put 5 passengers in the car, the ground clearance will become even less. Therefore, many resort to increasing it. This is done in three ways:

  1. The most common method is spacers. They are liners made of various materials (plastic, rubber, aluminum, etc.), which are placed between the coils of shock absorbers. This modification allows you to raise the car a few centimeters, but affects the comfort of passengers - the suspension becomes stiff. In addition, many experts do not recommend such interventions in the design of the car.
  2. Installation of larger diameter discs. This method is more suitable for a car. It allows you to increase ground clearance, but affects comfort - passengers will feel road irregularities more strongly.
  3. Well, the last, least common way is to increase the gap between the body and the strut supports.

Information icons

The machine icon may light up differently; it happens that the “car with a wrench” icon, the “car with a lock” icon, or an exclamation mark are lit. About all these notations in order:

When such an indicator lights up ( a car with a key ), it informs about malfunctions in the engine (often a malfunction of a sensor) or the electronic part of the transmission. To find out the exact cause, you will need to perform diagnostics.

A red car with a lock lights up , which means that problems have arisen in the operation of the standard anti-theft system and it will be impossible to start the car, but if this icon blinks when the car is locked, then everything is normal - the car is locked.

A yellow vehicle indicator with an exclamation mark notifies the driver of a hybrid vehicle that there is a problem with the electric drive. Resetting the error by disconnecting the battery terminal will not solve the problem - diagnostics are needed.

the open door icon lit when a door or trunk lid is open, but if all the doors are closed and the light on one or four doors continues to shine, then often the problem should be looked for in the door terminals (wire contacts).

The slippery road icon begins to flash when the stability control system detects a section of slippery road and is activated to prevent slipping by reducing engine power and braking the slipping wheel. There is no need to worry in such a situation. But when a key, a triangle, or a crossed out skid icon appears near such an indicator, the stabilization system is faulty.

The wrench icon pops up on the display when it’s time to perform vehicle maintenance. It is an information indicator and is reset after maintenance.
