  • The micro-reducer, which controls the damper drive, is jammed;
  • The control unit does not work.

The purpose of the second regulator is to ensure the required direction of airflow. Has the following modes:

  • airflow in the central area of ​​the SUV interior,
  • supplying warm/cold air flow to the lower/central part of the car,
  • blowing only the lower half of the cabin,
  • direction of air flow into the lower area of ​​the cabin and at the same time onto the windows,
  • supply of heated air to the side/windshield to prevent fogging.

The third regulator is used to regulate the speed of air flow supplied to the cabin.

Note that on some updated cars, the connection diagram for the UAZ Patriot heater did not allow for smooth regulation of the airflow intensity, that is, the third regulator had two positions: turn the heater on and turn it off. This flaw was quickly corrected, and on those machines where a similar bug occurs, it can be corrected by reflashing the heating system.

  • Using a 10mm wrench, you will also need to unscrew the bolt that holds the wiring harness bracket;
  • Unscrew 2 more bolts intended for fixing the electric motor on the body of the furnace equipment;
  • Now you can remove the electric motor itself;
  • Unscrew a couple of stud nuts and remove the mounting washer from the motor.

In some cases, you can count on the fact that minor repairs will restore the functionality of the old electric fan. But this does not always help and not in all situations. If the motor is badly worn, the brushes are worn out, or the housing is damaged, there is no point in trying to repair the device. It would be much more correct to install a new motor and assemble the unit in the reverse order. Don't forget to check the condition of the impeller itself. Sometimes you have to change it because of damage and defects. Act based on your specific situation.

Car heater fuse

The heating circuit circuit is reliably protected by a fuse. The fuse link can withstand a maximum current of 25 A. The protective component is located in the mounting block, which can be found at the bottom of the panel on the left side. The serial number of the insert is “21”.

Note that the fuse has one more function - to provide short circuit protection to the cigarette lighter circuit. When the insert burns out, the stove does not work at all. The driver immediately feels the lack of warm air supply inside the UAZ Patriot interior. The first test step is to monitor the protective circuit. A tester will help in this matter. If a faulty fuse is detected, then we can safely replace it with a new analogue and maintain the required current value (25 A)!

How to clean the stove in a UAZ Patriot?

So, if the stove does not work at all, you need to wash it. Quite often, the efficiency of the heating system decreases due to a clogged circuit. Flushing is necessary to remove various debris from the lines and heater.

Next, we’ll figure out how to properly clean the stove. We note here that this important procedure can be performed without dismantling the device. It is recommended to periodically resort to the flushing action in order to avoid a moment when the stove does not work completely.

So, let's start rinsing.

  1. We take an old water pump, which we connect to the circuit by connecting it to the fittings located on the engine panel. Here you will need to use a drain hose.
  2. First, rinse the circuit with plain water. To do this, fill a bucket with liquid, where we place the indicated pump. We start the pump and observe the process, paying attention to the consistency of the liquid flowing from the drain hose.
  3. To increase the efficiency of the flushing procedure, it is recommended to use a cleaning agent specially made for car cooling circuits.
  4. Upon completion of washing, remove the remaining foam. Citric acid will help here. We take 4 bags of this product, mix it with boiled water and “run” it along the entire circuit in the same way. We determine the amount of water ourselves.
  5. Now fill the container with clean water and rinse the system again.
  6. After making sure that the circuit is clean (we can see it by the consistency of the draining liquid), we fill the engine cooling system with antifreeze in sufficient quantity and to the required level.

Damper repair

It may happen that the heater damper stops working, the reason may be the following:

  • The micro-reducer, which controls the damper drive, is jammed;
  • The control unit does not work.

Thanks to this damper, the hot and cold air supply modes are switched. Most often it doesn't work. Due to the fact that incomplete opening or closing occurs, as a result of which the device does not function correctly. Incorrect operation of the damper is the weak point of the UAZ Patriot. When moving, the plastic gearbox constantly jams or simply breaks.

After all the washings, you can check the impeller animometer and measure the flow of hot air.

Let's sum it up

We start the engine, warm it up and observe the performance of the stove. If all manipulations are performed correctly, the heater will “reward” the owner of the UAZ Patriot with a powerful hot air stream escaping from the interior panel deflectors.
