The electric motor of the heater fan (“stove”) on VAZ 2108, 2109, 21099 cars and their modifications is a commutator, DC motor with excitation from permanent magnets. Has three rotation speeds. The speed is selected by a four-position switch on the instrument panel. Below are the electrical diagrams for connecting it.

Notes and additions
— The fan electric motor can be connected to the on-board network either directly (highest speed) or through an additional resistor having two resistance spirals (0.23 Ohm and 0.82 Ohm). If both spirals are included in the chain, the speed is low, if one is 0.23, the speed is average.

Schematic electrical diagrams, connecting devices and pinouts of connectors
The VAZ-2109 car was produced at AvtoVAZ from 1987 to 1997. Years of production 21099: 1990-2004 - in Russia, 2004-2011 - in Ukraine. Here are colored wiring diagrams (for the injector and carburetor) with a description of all the elements for various modifications. The information is intended for self-repair of cars. Electrical circuits are divided into several blocks for ease of viewing via a computer or smartphone; there are also circuits in the form of a single picture with a description of the elements - for printing on a printer.
Like the entire car, its electrical equipment was at an average level, so owners of Nines should know the wiring diagram thoroughly for routine repairs with their own hands.

Air dampers
Redirection of air flows to regulate temperature is carried out by a special damper. Types of damper control:
- mechanical. The damper drive is connected directly to the switch in the cabin via rods and cables. In this case, the driver, by moving the regulator, manually doses the temperature of the incoming air;
- electronic. The damper is equipped with a servo drive. The electric motor changes the position of the damper, receiving commands from the control unit. This scheme is used on cars with climate control systems. The driver just needs to set the desired temperature in the cabin in the on-board computer, after which the electronic control unit, focusing on temperature sensors, will control the air damper servomotor.
Channels extend from the stove fan into the cabin, through which air can be supplied to the windshield, to the feet, or through the central deflectors. Depending on the operating scheme, the modes can be either combined or single, when all the intake air is supplied to only one zone. Switching modes can be done mechanically or using a servo drive and a control unit. The mechanical method involves direct connection of the air dampers to the switch on the dashboard. The electric drive of the dampers allows you to control them by pressing a key, as well as to implement automatic control of the electronic unit of the interior air conditioning system.

The weak point of the harnesses is the power wiring on the bottom shelf of the radiator, which is constantly exposed to high temperatures and in this place it is in no way protected from water and dirt. Another problem is a harness under the carpet next to the driver's seat. Moisture constantly accumulates there, and in order to remove it, you need to dry the floor, inevitably tugging on the rope.
Since the mid-90s, VAZ 2109 began to use engines with an injection system, which greatly changed the electrical layout of the engine compartment and instrument panel. Below is an electrical diagram of a 1999 car with an ECM type GM ISFI-2S and January 4/4.1.

Recycling
In recirculation mode, the main air damper closes, after which the heater fan begins to draw air from the passenger compartment. This mode of operation allows you to block the access of unpleasant odors and polluted air from the street if, for example, you are driving a car along a dusty gravel road.
In winter, the recirculation mode allows you to warm up the car interior faster, since not frosty air, but warm interior air passes through the heater radiator. Accordingly, in summer, recirculation makes it easier for the air conditioner to cool down.
Types of recirculation drive:
- mechanical (described above);
- vacuum. The damper is connected to the vacuum brake system. When the button is pressed, the valve moves due to the vacuum and remains in the closed position until the button is pressed again;
- using a servo drive. On some vehicles, the control unit, based on the gas analyzer readings, can automatically turn on recirculation when it detects a high level of exhaust gas concentration in the intake air.
Relay and fuse box diagram 2109
The fuse blocks do not depend on the fuel injection system used - carburetor or injector. BP will differ only by year of manufacture of the car. That is, the mounting blocks for the carburetor and injector are the same. The VAZ 2109-099 fuse box (carburetor, injector) is located under the hood, in the compartment in front of the windshield on the left side.

Attention! The power terminals on the generator often become loose, heat up, spark and melt the wiring. Pay attention to this point when searching for possible faults yourself.

Replacing the stove tap
It often happens that a part such as a faucet breaks (it is worth noting that on the 2114 it is not very reliable). When replacing it, you should simultaneously replace the pipes, even if they are in good working order (the location of the pipes of the VAZ 2114 stove was described above).
All faucet replacements are performed in the following order:
- place the car in the pit and secure it;
- unscrew the screw plug and drain the coolant;
- using a screwdriver, loosen the clamps on the pipes located in the engine compartment, and then remove them;
- find the tap in the passenger compartment on the passenger side (located under the panel), loosen the clamps of the pipes suitable for it, and then remove them;
- Using a 10mm wrench, unscrew a pair of nuts screwed onto the studs and securing the valve body;
- from the interior side, pull out the tap and disconnect the control cable from it;
- install a new (similar) faucet in its original place;
- perform assembly in the same sequence, but in reverse order.
Before disconnecting the pipes (especially those located in the passenger compartment), you should place a cloth under them in case of coolant leakage.
Many car enthusiasts who carry out such a replacement are sometimes interested in how to properly connect the pipes to the VAZ 2114 stove? After all, by mistake or forgetfulness, you can connect them incorrectly, which will disrupt the normal circulation of coolant.
In order not to make a mistake, it is worth remembering that the connection diagram for the connection pipes of the VAZ 2114 stove is as follows: the pipes located in the engine compartment are connected: the first - from the tap (inlet) to the hole in the cylinder head, the second - from the tap (outlet) - to "saxophone". The connections in the cabin are connected: the first - from the tap to the thermostat, the second - from the tap to the pump inlet.
For even greater convenience, you can use the following general diagram of the heating system:
It is worth noting that the pipes located inside the cabin vary greatly in length, so it is extremely difficult to confuse their location.
