  1. Inexpensive case option with good quality.
  2. Proximity to original parts, which facilitates installation and installation.
  3. Long-term operation due to the resistance of silicone to negative factors.

Cons of Lemforder

  1. When purchasing, you will need to check the spare part for logos and special codes, the country of the manufacturer, since there are a very large number of fakes, which are not only low in cost, but also of poor quality.
  2. If a non-recommended lubricant is used, the boot may be subject to accelerated wear.

The drive is removed, what next?

The drive surface is cleaned with a metal brush and rags.

Then the clamps securing the boot are removed, and it is cut or removed using a screwdriver.

The CV joint is wiped clean of grease and then becomes loose.

To do this, it can be clamped in a vice or held suspended with the outer “grenade” down, and an assistant knocks it down with a drift and hammer.

After this, you need to check the condition of the retaining ring at the end of the shaft and replace it if necessary.

The removed hinge is thoroughly wiped and placed in a container with gasoline for washing.

The new boot is placed on the shaft.

The washed CV joint sits on the shaft splines and is then driven onto the last one.

It needs to be hammered through a wooden spacer.

Don't forget about lubrication.

Before pulling the boot onto the CV joint, CV joint-4 lubricant is placed inside it, as well as inside the hinge. After this, the boot is put on the “grenade” and secured with clamps.

Then all that remains is to put everything back in place.

The drive is driven into the gearbox using a hammer and a wooden spacer.

The hub is put on the splines of the outer CV joint and the nut securing it is tightened.

The lower ball joint is screwed into place. The wheel is installed.

After this, you need to check the tightness of all the bolts and nuts that were unscrewed.

The crankcase protection is screwed on, the car is removed from the stands, and oil is poured into the gearbox.

The same sequence of work applies to the drive of the other side.

IMPORTANT: you cannot remove the drives from both sides at once, so that the gears inside the gearbox do not shift, after which it will be very difficult to install the drives back.

That's it, you can enjoy your result.

Types of CV joint anthers

Boots for CV joints are presented in the form of special protective covers that ensure tight closure of the hinge assembly from the ingress of foreign substances and various dirt.

There are two types of anthers:

1. Internal, which is necessary to protect the CV joint in the interior of the vehicle assembly. It protects the element from temperature, various objects and dirt, as well as physical impact.

2. The external or external version of the boot provides protection to external elements. It must have increased resistance to wear and stress. Typically, such protective elements are elastic, since they are subject to compression and stretching during operation of the unit.

Take into account that the two types of anthers have individual characteristics and differ from each other.

Good day to all!

Technology for manufacturing any rubber products (boots, corrugations, pipes), of any shapes and configurations, from two-component silicone, using the example of a corrugated boot (corrugation).

Let’s say right away - if it is possible to buy the necessary part, then it is faster and cheaper, but there are times when it is almost impossible to find and buy the required product, or you are not satisfied with the quality, or you need something non-standard, this is for “homemade people”, or even “to show off” , for example, an exclusive corrugation for the gear shift knob, then further...

A few words about silicone, manufacturers claim that it is resistant to ultraviolet, chemical and fur loads, heat, cold, in short, theoretically eternal... Yes, if compared with a similar elastic band, a silicone product is more elastic, more pleasant to the touch, without loss, or even increase in strength . We needed to make a unique corrugation (they couldn’t find anything like it), and we only needed a few pieces. Here it is.

Now, about what we will be uploading, this is a set of silicone (there is a kilogram bucket), hardener and dyes

It's like looking from the front and below. If for the corrugation, the Solida mass-volume analysis needs 25 cubes (but you need to dilute 30), then for the apron there is a larger palette, which means you need a filler (save silicone) - rubber powder (coarse sandpaper in your hands), but that comes later. Recently, someone asked where to get polyurethane silent blocks, I saw two-component polyurethane on this site, and the shapes for blocks, bushings, pads are much simpler than for corrugations or an apron.

That's it, now a video of preparing and making the corrugation (boot). I immediately apologize for the video quality, background sounds, and first-grader editing, my first experience with video
