Ride comfort indicators depend 70% on the size of the wheels and the correct inflation. This car is equipped with three types of wheels, and for each version the recommended tire pressure for the Lada Vesta is different.
Dimensions | Recommended pressure At.
Front axle | Rear axle | |
195/65 R15 | 2.10 | 2.10 |
205/55 R16 | 2.10 | 2.10 |
205/50 R17 | 2.30 | 2.30 |
An important parameter is the actual load of the machine. The above values are relevant for 4 adults in the car. If there is an additional load of about 100 kg inside the trunk. 0.1-0.2 units should be added to the nominal values.
The company insists on timely monitoring of correct tire inflation. In the absence of proper care, a decrease in actual indicators by more than 15% from the standard, such negative effects may occur.
- Accelerated wear of the tread.
- Reduced steering sensitivity.
- Increased braking distance.
- Increased fuel consumption.
- The likelihood of hydroplaning on wet asphalt increases.
To facilitate control, a TPMS system is installed on board the machine, which automatically measures tire inflation in real time. Thus, it is almost impossible to “mess up” the release wheel.
How often to measure to kill rubber
Please note that pressure may change due to changes in ambient temperature.
Moreover, the process occurs equally in winter and summer. The main rule when checking is to measure it before driving, before the tires get hot. After a short trip, the wheels become very hot and the performance differs significantly from the real ones. Measurements should be taken not only after tire wear has become noticeable. The manufacturer recommends checking the inflation when you feel that the car is behaving differently.
For example, it began to throw to the sides, uncertainly when entering turns. In any operating book you will find information that a check must be carried out if temperature changes reach 10-15 degrees.
As a rule, these are the spring/autumn seasons, be careful this is a time of temperature fluctuations.
Real temperature display
The new instrument panel inaccurately displays temperatures ranging from 55 to 105 degrees. It doesn’t matter whether the engine has heated up to 60 or 100 degrees – the needle will point to 90. After exceeding the threshold of 105 degrees, the sensor already shows the exact temperature.
From the drivers' point of view, this is an extremely inconvenient innovation. Because of this, it is impossible to objectively assess whether the car has warmed up. It’s also easy to miss the moment when the engine starts to “boil.”
The sensor will indicate overheating only when the critical temperature of 105 degrees is exceeded.
What do we offer?
We suggest reconfiguring the sensor so that it shows the actual temperature in the range from 55 to 105 degrees. So that you can notice in time when the engine begins to overheat and exceed the threshold of 90-95 degrees. In the future, this will avoid the engine “boiling” and save on repairs to the cooling system.
This modification also significantly simplifies travel in winter and late autumn. It becomes possible to be 100% sure that the car is warmed up. After all, the behavior of the engine at temperatures of 56 and 104 degrees is noticeably different.
Low profile tire pressure
This parameter, ignored by novice car enthusiasts, is very important when operating cars with any tires, and especially with low-profile ones. The required tire pressure is always indicated by the vehicle manufacturer in the operating instructions and in an accessible place on the body, for the Lada Vesta - on the B pillar on the driver's side.
- Low profile tires require increased attention to pressure, as insufficient pressure will make the wheels and suspension even more vulnerable to potholes and rocks on the road.
- As many years of experience have shown, the pressure in low-profile tires must be maintained 15% higher than that specified by the manufacturer for wheels of the recommended size.
Alternative wheel options
During operation, owners often replace the standard wheels and tires on the Lada Vesta with alternative options. In this case, it is necessary to rely on the diameter of the wheels. For any replacement options, it should be preserved, since deviations in any direction can lead to incorrect operation of the ABS and ESP systems.
Let's look at the example of an R16 wheel and a 195/55 tire to see how to make the replacement correctly.
First, let's calculate the diameter of the wheel. To do this, add up the diameter of the disk (16J*25.4 mm = 405.4 mm) and the double height of the tire profile (195*55/100=107.2*2=214.4 mm). Given the wheel height (406.4 mm + 214.4 mm = 620.8 mm), it is easy to select a different wheel to tire ratio. In our case, you can install an R15 wheel with a 205/60 tire. A similar calculation is made for other disk diameters.
Tire pressure Lada Vesta
If you don’t know what pressure is in the Lada Vesta tires, then this article will answer your question.
Please note that it is necessary to check tire pressure quite often, as this directly affects driving safety. Manufacturers also set standards for each specific car so that the driver has something to focus on.
The Lada Vesta instruction manual contains the following values:
Vehicle modification and execution | Tire size with load capacity and speed indexes* | Wheel size | Air pressure in tires front/rear, MPa (kgf/cm2)
Rim width (inches) | Rim offset (et)**, mm | Partial load*** | Full load****

* Speed indices: T – up to 190 km/h, H – up to 210 km/h. Load capacity indices: 88–560 kg; 91–615 kg. **Rim offset (ET) is the distance from the mating plane of the disc to the middle of the rim. *** Partial load – no more than 3 adults in the car without cargo in the trunk.
**** Full load – more than 3 adults or 3 adults and a load of 50 kg in the trunk.
Deviation from these recommendations will lead to dire consequences:
- The stability and controllability of your car will deteriorate;
- Fuel consumption will increase due to greater tire resistance;
- Tire wear will increase.
If you don’t want to memorize the table, then on the Lada Vesta the recommended tire pressure values are indicated on a special information plate, which is located on the B-pillar on the driver’s side. Just open the driver's door and find out the recommended tire pressure for the Lada Vesta.
If the pressure constantly drops, then it is necessary not only to pump up the tires, but to eliminate the source of the leak. First of all, you should check the spool; if it is working, then the problem is in the tires or wheels. You may have a puncture or a loose fit between the tire and the rim.
Note that the air pressure in tires is constantly changing, depending on the temperature of the air inside the tire. At low temperatures, air compresses and pressure drops; as temperature rises, pressure increases.
It is optimal to check the readings at an ambient temperature within 10-15 degrees Celsius and after a short period of inactivity. When driving, the tires warm up, so measuring the pressure immediately after a trip is incorrect.

Any modern car or truck can be serviced and repaired independently, in a regular garage. All you need for this is a set of tools and a factory repair manual with a detailed (step-by-step) description of the operations. Such a manual should contain the types of operating fluids, oils and lubricants used, and most importantly, the tightening torques of all threaded connections of parts of vehicle components and assemblies. Hub hole diameter (d)
Some manufacturers produce wheels with an oversized hole diameter for the hub - this circumstance allows them to be used using special inserts - centering rings on many car models. Therefore, a larger hole diameter for the hub is an easily solvable problem, in contrast to the opposite situation, when the hole is small.
And yet, there is a common situation when bolted fastening seems sufficient to the car enthusiast, and the use of centering rings is neglected. In this case, at speeds above 100 km/h, wheel runout begins, which can be difficult to diagnose, and pointless balancing costs follow.
What does it take to reconfigure the dashboard?
You just need to order a technician from our STOSHILO department. He will set up the dashboard in 15-30 minutes and check its operation. Sometimes it takes a little more time to calibrate tire pressure sensors, but even then the job takes less than an hour.
We do not recommend attempting to customize the dashboard yourself. Without experience and equipment, such “flashing” can throw off the settings. Depending on the situation, replacement of the dashboard, sensors or complex software system restoration will be required. It is better to entrust the work to professionals.

How many atmospheres to pump the wheels on the Lada Vesta Cross - instructions
The factory recommendation for Vesta Cross indicates from 2.2 to 2.4 “atmospheres”, this also depends on driving style. The size plays a role, considering that the manufacturer installs R17 wheels and size 205/50.

Some people want a higher, wider tire, so they “play” with the inflation level as they want. But, you need to take into account all the features, what the load is, the diameter, the larger the diameter, the smaller the height.
It is generally accepted that for the Cross version the average values range from 2.2 to 2.4 atmospheres.

The maximum pressure is written on the tire; in the spring, when there are asphalt with holes, take a maximum of minus 5 psi
The tire should say what pressure it should be.
on profile 50 I went all winter at 2 atm, everything was smooth
So in winter, Russian asphalt (snow) is added, everything is smooth. In our city, it’s usually the worst in the spring, but for some reason they do it closer to autumn. Explained by lengthy tenders for repairs
I got tired of jumping on profile 45 on grant and started downloading 2.1. I caught a couple of hernias, bought two new cylinders, not without it, but the pleasure of riding turned out to be more expensive than money. After this experience, I won’t take Vesta 17, I’ve driven around. It’s beautiful, but comfort has become more expensive for me. And after the winter 65 profile, I can’t get hooked on big wheels at all)) I float over bumps and potholes)))
16 seems to me the best option

So the hernias are due to not pumping enough. 2.5 would be ok
So this is understandable. More - tough, don’t tolerate inconvenience like that.
Folks, who pumps up R17 how much? I put on winter tires and the tire fitter pumped them up to 2.5 (he said that there’s less chance of a side cut). For me, that’s a lot, it bounces on every bump!

I download 2.5 both in winter and in summer, everything is good, otherwise you will complain that the disks are plasticine))))
I remember I used 195/50/R15 2.4-2.6 tires on a Priora))) and everything was great))
2.3 - 2.4 otherwise the disc in the pit is more likely to jam.
2.3 will be fine, not too hard? Apparently all 2.2 are downloading!
No, but my tires are soft... Hankuk
R17 is different, 205/50 can be according to the 2.2 standard, if the profile is a little larger, try 2.4, somewhere on the Internet there was a Japanese conversion table. For myself, 205/50 for long-distance highways pumped up to 3, so the roll-up is greater and the consumption is less, in the village bumps and down to 2
2.2-2.3 - you’re not driving a carriage.
I download 3 on 21x))))) And nothing, everything is fine
For the summer I also download 2.5
Why, in any incomprehensible situation, do people prefer to trust not the instructions for their car, but strangers and Internet advice?
It's a long way to get to the instructions in the glove compartment)
And the factory instructions, as I understand it, are written for fools, right?
2.5 in the summer I downloaded on the standard one. now 2.4 at 16/60/205 winter.
What non-standard sizes can be supplied?
In addition to the standard wheels listed above, you can install tires of non-standard diameter on your Lada Vesta. When choosing such solutions, you should definitely adhere to a number of recommendations:
- when using rubber with a diameter of 15 inches, the tire composition must have increased strength - since the car will have greater inertia when cornering;
- for aggressive, fast driving - wheels with a diameter of 17 inches are best suited;
- Summer tires are best equipped with wheels with a diameter of 16 inches - such wheels can be equipped with tires with a sole width of 185 to 195 mm and a profile height of 55-60 mm.
Before installing and starting to use tires of non-standard sizes, the driver should “try on” them. Often, when the wheel width or profile height increases, the tread begins to touch the plastic fender liner.
As a result, the fender liner itself may be broken, and the protector begins to quickly wear down on the plastic surface. Wheels that are too large often damage mudguards and the body.
The appearance of cracks and chips in the paintwork causes serious trouble.
general information
Tires are an integral part of the car; their presence, in principle, is not questioned, because without them the car will not go anywhere. However, tire quality has become one of the most popular topics of discussion among car enthusiasts. In addition to brands, car tires have much more informative parameters. Almost every car enthusiast has noticed a similar inscription on his new tires - 185/65/R15, but not everyone understands what this notation means and how to navigate it. The first number, in our case 185, is responsible for the width of the tire and informs its owner that it is equal to 185 millimeters, the second number 65 is the ratio of the profile height to the width, which is indicated as a percentage. The letter R in the size entry indicates that the tire belongs to the family of radial tires. Well, the last number 15
indicates that the tire fits rims of 15 diameter (indicated in inches).
Unsuitability of disks of other models of the Lada line
Wheel rims of size 185/55/R15 from the AvtoVAZ Grant, Priora and Kalina models cannot be installed on the Lada Vesta, even though at first glance they seem suitable. The diameter of the hole for the wheel hub of these cars is 58.5 mm, that is, 1.6 mm less.
But, even if this hole is bored on a lathe to the required size, the bolt pattern (PCD) of these products is 4x98, not 4x100, and 3 of the four mounting bolts will not be centered relative to the mounting holes, accordingly, the disk will not be aligned with the hub, and its rotation will be accompanied by beating.

The manufacturer recommends inflating tires with dimensions 185/65R15 and 195/55R16 to 2.1 bar, both front and rear. This is indicated in the instruction manual and on the plate.
If it suddenly seems that the wheels are too hard, then you can reduce it to 2.0 bar, but you should not reduce the pressure below.
It is also worth considering seasonality and checking pressure depending on the time of year.
For example, in summer, as the temperature rises, pressure increases, and in winter, it decreases. It is not for nothing that at tire shops, before winter re-shoeing, when it is not yet completely cold, but the temperature is about to drop, tires are inflated slightly above the recommended values.
Check pressure when temperature changes and more.
The start of sales of the Lada Vesta SV Cross all-terrain station wagon was given about a year ago. The new product of the domestic automobile industry turned out to be quite successful in sales. This is facilitated by a fresh design and good build quality. In addition to this station wagon, the AvtoVAZ line, as you've probably heard about, includes the Vesta sedan models (regular and cross versions) and the Vesta SV city station wagon. A characteristic difference between the SV Cross station wagon and other models is the installation of large wheels with a diameter of 17 inches. In this article, we suggest delving into the topic of wheels and answering basic questions about choosing tires for the Lada Vesta SV Cross.
Standard tire pressure monitoring system for Lada vesta
At the moment, this system is available - it is installed on export versions of the Lada family: Vesta, XRay, Kalina, Granta. It’s hard to say when the option will appear on Lada models intended for Russia; the fact that the option is available is encouraging. Perhaps soon the “gadgets” will be available here too.
Taking into account the equipment of export vehicles, their “tidy” is also different, because this is where information from the sensors is sent. In general, the TPMS tire pressure monitoring system is represented by four built-in sensors in the wheel valves. TPMS sensors regularly measure and send data to the dashboard, informing the driver.
Additional sizes
Many car enthusiasts install wheels and tires of a different size on their car, for various reasons: it could be repairs after an accident or just a modification. Let's try to understand in more detail the adequate mounting options for non-standard tires and wheels on the Lada Vesta. We will also consider the advantages and disadvantages of this operation, as well as the consequences of possible installations that promise serious losses in the operating parameters of individual components and assemblies (including early breakdowns).
If the car owner simply decided to change the tires on his car (without changing the dimensions), there is nothing wrong with that. But in this case, it is necessary to ensure that all tires contain the same tread, as well as an equal degree of wear (in this case, the tread is allowed to differ only for the front and rear axles).
