Recommended wheel and tire sizes for Lada Largus

The size of tires and wheels not only adds style to the car, but also greatly influences the vehicle's performance on the road. Each manufacturer indicates acceptable standard sizes, and AVTOVAZ is no exception. In this review, we will look at the wheel size of the Lada Largus.

Usually, the manufacturer, depending on the modification of the car, indicates several acceptable wheel sizes, Lada Largus is an exception. The instruction manual indicates the only wheel size for all trim levels: 185/65R15 . Lada Largus wheel parameters: 6Jx15, offset (ET) for R15 = ET50. Wheel hub bolt pattern 4x100. Everyone knows that the Lada Largus is a 2006 Dacia Logan MCV adapted for the Russian market. The technical characteristics of the foreign car indicate exactly the same wheel size.

Recommended wheel and tire sizes for Lada Largus

Based on reviews and surveys of Lada Largus car owners, we can summarize:

  1. The most popular tire size with a diameter of 14 inches turned out to be 185/70R14 , by the way, it is indicated in the table with tire pressure. Another less popular option is 165/80R14.
  2. The majority use the standard wheel size 185/65R15 . Another popular size of the same radius is 195/65R15 . A few installed 205/60R15 and 195/60R15 tires on their cars.
  3. Fans of larger wheels install tires: 205/55 R16 , 195/60 R16 and 195/55 R16.
  4. R17 wheels: 205/50R17 , 205/45R17, 225/45R17 or 215/50R17.
  5. Exclusive sizes: 215/35R18 and 215/40/18.

R is not a radius, but a designation of the radius of the tire, and the number is the diameter of the rim in inches. The most popular wheel sizes are shown in bold.

When choosing wheels, you should take into account the full diameter of the wheel; it should not differ much from the standard one. Compatibility table:

Winter tires for Largus tips

Lada Largus Cross

The Lada Largus Cross is a car built on the basis of the Dacia Logan and rebuilt for the needs of the domestic market. It is a joint project between the two and Avtovaz to expand the presence of both brands on the Russian market. Produced since 2012. Over the entire period of production, it has gained quite a large number of fans due to its versatility, relatively reasonable price and high level of quality. Produced in five- and seven-seat versions. There is a model in the form of a cargo van or a passenger station wagon. The “Cross” version is the most expensive and sporty. Alloy wheels and many other interesting things are installed on it.

Like any other car, the Largus Cross is subject to tire wear or the need to replace them due to the change of season. Regardless of the reason, tire replacement should always be done in a timely manner.

It is important that the new set of tires matches the old one in diameter and width, otherwise the products will not install on the wheel rim. In any case, you need to timely, efficiently and correctly select a new set of winter tires from the large assortment of products presented in stores

The characteristics of products can differ radically, so the choice should be of the highest quality possible.

Winter tires for Largus Cross, like any other model of the concern, can only be used in cold periods with an average temperature below zero degrees Celsius. Temperatures exceeding the specified temperature are definitely not suitable and require an urgent transition to summer or all-season tires. The tread depth of winter tires is much greater than that of summer tires. Also, a particularly important point when choosing is that tires for the summer or winter seasons have a radically different composition of chemical elements. This composition is prepared by the manufacturer for a specific temperature regime. The composition of winter tires is made precisely so that the products can withstand low temperatures and have maximum grip on the road surface even in very bad conditions.

Largus Cross Black Edition

When the average temperature rises above five degrees Celsius, winter tires become soft and wear out very quickly. The use of this type of rubber in warm weather is prohibited. Summer ones, on the contrary, harden very much at low temperatures. In this regard, a high-quality choice of wheels specifically for the winter season is of exceptional importance.

Three types of winter tires that can be installed on a Largus car:

  • Scandinavian tires. Since the most severe winters occur in the northern Scandinavian countries, the type of tire has acquired an identical name. These tires are manufactured and intended for use in very cold and snowy winters. Their tread is made in the form of diamonds, which are arranged in a checkerboard pattern.
  • European type of tires. Intended for use in conditions of moderate and fairly warm winters with rare precipitation. Since most European countries have a relatively warm climate, such products can be used in moderately difficult conditions. The tread is made in the form of a “Christmas tree”.
  • Studded tires. They give the vehicle maximum efficiency when driving on ice and snow-covered road surfaces. The use of such tires will give you confidence when moving on ice. However, on ordinary asphalt such products are noisy and useless. They are distinguished by steel studs inserted into the tread, which provide maximum controllability in ice and snow.

Pressure and other parameters

Recommended tire pressure:

  • 2.4-2.6 MPa (for R15 in the simple version);
  • 2.5 MPa (for R16 in the Cross version).

You can also find another designation on the rubber, which indicates the following characteristics:

  • load index;
  • speed index.

The first (two or three) digits indicate the load index per tire, and the Latin letter indicates the maximum speed tolerance. In our case, these could be the following values.

  • 92H – 630 kg. and 210 km/h. (relevant for simple versions of Largus with R15);
  • 88T – 560 kg. and 190 km/h. (relevant for simple versions of Largus with R15);
  • 91H – 615 kg. and 210 km/h. (relevant for the Largus Cross version with R16);
  • 91V – 615 kg. and 240 km/h. (relevant for the Largus Cross version with R16).

Which summer tires are best for Largus Cross cars?

When choosing, the speed and weight index, brand and tread pattern are taken into account.
The production date of the products plays an important role - if they were made more than 5 years ago, it is better to refuse such a purchase. The pattern is divided into two types: asymmetrical, directional and symmetrical. The last option is considered the most popular. Since the symmetrical pattern is suitable for most cars. This option is considered as the most convenient for moving around the city. The main reason for choosing this pattern is low cost.

The directional tread pattern allows car owners to drive off-road, providing ideal directional stability and handling. Unfortunately, there is some noise when driving off-road.

When replacing wheel structures, it is necessary to select standard models. When installing large components, you will have to choose the appropriate tires with a low profile. To move on a flat road, it is better to use low-profile tires. This tire improves dynamic performance and handling.

Selection of Lada Largus FL wheels

Very often there are options when users install disks of the same width, but with a larger diameter, or a slightly increased width and a standard diameter.
It is worth noting that such solutions have a certain risk and definitely need to be tried on to make sure that the new disk with tires (it is selected according to the parameters of the new disks) do not touch or rub other elements of the car, maintaining gaps.

The bolt pattern parameters remain unchanged in any case. Also, when tuning, various types of adapters and spacers are sometimes used, however, AvtoVAZ specialists do not recommend resorting to such measures.

It is best to stick to the factory parameters, this definitely guarantees safety and comfort; also, wheels with parameters for the Cross version are quite suitable for the regular version of Largus.

There are a lot of disk options, and they can be easily selected both by model and parameters. There is no point in highlighting any special options, since discs are a matter of taste. Just as an example, we can cite several options that were seen on the Lada Largus:

  • K&K KC866, article number: r74595SK;
  • SCAD Shark, article number: 1690505;
  • K&K KC733, article number: r71667.

Among larger disks, the following parameters are most often found:

  • 195/60 R16;
  • 205/50 R17;
  • 215/40 R18.

Frequency of checking tire pressure

Improvements to Lada Largus All Innovations
The tightness of the wheel structure is not ideal. The air gradually comes out. The reduction in pressure directly depends on the air temperature.

Monitoring must be regular. It is optimal to check your blood pressure at least twice a week. Ideal when leaving a parking lot, visiting a gas station, or performing maintenance.

The pressure in the tire should be lower than in the other wheels.

Visual assessment of the condition of tires is an irresponsible attitude towards the vehicle and safety. There is a high risk of not noticing a slight decrease or increase in pressure (0.1-0.5 atmospheres).

In the following situations, it is recommended to reduce the atmosphere to a level lower than the factory instructions:

  • when driving on a slippery road (in winter);
  • for off-road driving.

What tire sizes does the manufacturer recommend to install?

But it also affects the behavior of the vehicle on the road. Lada Largus is produced by the AvtoVAZ concern. The manufacturer guarantees good handling and no problems with the suspension only when using wheels of the recommended sizes.

Some manufacturers specify several acceptable wheel types for their vehicle. However, Largus is an exception. The AvtoVAZ concern has established only 1 acceptable type of wheels. It has a standard size of 185/65 mm with a diameter of 15 inches. Standard parameters for Lada Largus wheels:

  • 6J at 15;
  • departure (ET) – ET50;
  • hub bolt pattern – 4 × 100 mm.

However, it is worth noting that the Lada Largus is a Dacia Logan MCV 2006 car adapted for the Russian market. The technical characteristics of the foreign car indicate a similar size for tires and wheels. Therefore, when choosing tires, you can be guided by the recommendations specifically for the Logan MCV 2006.

The Lada Largus series is presented in three separate versions - R90, F90, Cross. You can purchase versions with 7 or 5 seats. There is also a cargo version.

It is labeled as F90. There are some distinctive features for the Cross version of the car.

Other sizes

Some desperate owners strive to experiment in this area and install tires with different characteristics on their station wagons. Often people are prompted to do this by the desire to distinguish their “horse” from the gray mass of cars of the same type.

The most popular “experimental” size is “195x65xR15”. Much less often, owners install tires with dimensions “195x60xR15” or “205x60xR15”. Note that the space present inside the body arches allows the use of tires with other sizes:

  • for “R16” wheels: “195x55xR16”, “195x60xR16” and “205x55xR16”;
  • applicable to “R17” wheels: “205x45xR17”, “205x50xR17” and “225x45xR17”;
  • with “R18” wheels: “215x35xR18” and “215x40xR18”.

Larger instances should be installed with extreme caution. Such “rollers” can lead to unpredictable changes in the behavior of a car on the road surface.

This is especially pronounced in unfavorable weather.

How increasing the wheel size can affect the behavior of the car can be found in this table.

One should not discount the fact that increased sizes of wheels and tires can cause incorrect operation of the following systems responsible for active safety:

  • "ABS" - system for preventing blocking of brake mechanisms;
  • “ESP” is an option responsible for directional stability.

DIY tire replacement rules

In order to save money, many car enthusiasts are thinking about replacing tires themselves. The process is not the easiest, but doable. To work, you will need a balloon, mounting blades, a jack and a compressor or pump. When performing the procedure, you should take into account some tricks, without which this event is doomed to failure.

Removing the tire from the rim

First you need to remove the wheel from the hub. Then it is laid on the ground so that the nipple nipple is at the top. All the air is released from the tube or tire, in the case of a tubeless tire, and the nipple nipple is recessed inside. You need to stand on the wheel with your feet so that the edge of the tire separates from the rim of the disc. Sometimes extra force may be required if the rubber sticks to the metal.

A mounting blade is inserted into the gap between the edge of the tire and the disk, then a second one. The main task is to turn the sidewall of the tire beyond the edge of the rim. If the wheel has a tube, it is pulled out through the resulting gap. If the tire is tubeless, you need to unscrew the entire side of the tire by the rim, then unscrew the second sidewall of the tire using the same edge of the rim and remove it from the rim.

When working, you must apply considerable force and be careful not to damage the disc. Cast products made from light alloy materials are especially fragile.

Mounting a tire on a rim

Before installation, make sure that the tire is the correct size and has no defects. It is recommended to remove the balancing weights and the old nipple. When installing, you should take into account the markings on the tire, usually the direction of travel in the form of arrows.

To facilitate the installation task, you can apply a soap solution to the edge of the tire and the rim of the disk, but within reasonable limits, otherwise the tire will slip. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. First, one edge of the tire is put on, after which the second one is wound on the rim.

Tire pressure and inflation

For wheels with a tube, everything is simple - you need to inflate the tube more than required in the manual (the pressure in Largus tires is no more than 2.1 atmospheres). This is necessary so that the tube sits evenly in the tire, after which you can deflate the air to the required values. For a tubeless tire the process is more complicated. When you try to inflate it, air will escape through the gap between the edge of the rim and the sidewalls of the tire.

You need to inflate any other wheel to 4 atmospheres. After this, remove the hose from the pump and put the end without a fitting on the nipple of the installed tire, the other end with a fitting is put on the inflated tire. Air under high pressure and at high speed will quickly fill an empty tire. This will be enough for it to sit tightly on the rim without having time to let air through the gaps. But it’s better to go to a tire shop, where this procedure will take a few minutes using special equipment. After the procedure, you will need to balance the wheels, which cannot be done in a garage without a machine.

Unlike all previous AvtoVAZ models, larger wheels are initially installed on Largus. This way, this model further emphasizes its relationship with other brands. Lada Largus is a joint product of AvtoVAZ and the Nissan-Renault concern.

I’ll say right away that all my previous cars always had imported tires, both summer and winter, and one can even say that I was never lucky enough to drive a car on Russian tires. And now I would like to share my impressions after the Lada Largus, on which Amtel Planet tires were installed from the factory.

So, after my first trip around the city, I didn’t feel much discomfort, since the speed rarely reached 60 km/h, only sometimes during sharp turns the car slightly drifted on turns, but I thought that this was quite acceptable.

But when I drove onto a country road, I realized that it was simply unsafe to continue driving on such skating rinks. Again, at low speeds no shortcomings are felt, but as soon as Largus reaches a speed of over 90 km/h, then what I have always feared immediately begins. If the car gets into a rut, it can be quite problematic to hold it, despite the obedient electric power steering. The Lada Largus behaves just as unstable on long turns when moving fast.

And if you get into a puddle on the asphalt, then be prepared for a sudden inadequate reaction of the car - and hold the steering wheel tighter so as not to fly off the road. A visit to the tire shop did not yield anything significant, they did balancing, but this did not improve the characteristics of the tires much, and it was decided that with the next salary I would have to buy new tires for my car, and I would sell these cylinders to someone at a bargain price, I think there will be customers fast. I haven’t decided yet what I’ll buy, but most likely something from the manufacturer Michelin - based on past operating experience, I’m more than satisfied with them, both summer and winter.

Although many people say that they are very soft and fragile, I am of the opinion that even if you give a fool anything, he will still break his neck. I will definitely choose Michelin - for me this is the standard of quality among all tire manufacturers. Used tires are an excellent choice of winter and summer tires of excellent quality and at fairly low prices. There are options that have traveled no more than 1000 km, but the cost is almost half the retail price.

Tires for the Largus car 195 65 15

Models with dimensions 195 65 15
To supply components 195 65 15, it is advisable to familiarize yourself with the general parameters in advance. Standard dimensions 195×65 R15:

  • tire width - 195 mm;
  • profile height - 65%;
  • rim diameter - 15 inches;
  • load index - 92 (up to 5800 kg);
  • speed index - H (up to 180 km/h).

How to choose alloy wheels

For the Largus Cross car model, there are many different variations for installing wheel rims. They vary in manufacturing methods, shapes, cost and design.

The characteristics, price and controllability of the machine depend as much as possible on the method of production of the products. For Lada Largus Cross, wheels are made from the following materials:

  • Steel. Conventional stamped products are made from it.
  • Aluminum and magnesium. Cast or alloy wheels are made from these materials.
  • Titanium. In combination with aluminum and magnesium it is a raw material for the production of forged products.

As for the price, stamped wheels are the cheapest. Cast ones are considered more expensive and of higher quality. And forged products provide maximum strength and wear resistance. They are also the most expensive in the list of products presented.

In this case, forged wheels have the minimum weight and maximum strength characteristics. They have long been known for their use in auto racing and have become widespread in the automotive industry. But the forging process does not allow creating a variety of shapes and textures, so such products are limited in design solutions.

Stamped steel wheels can take any shape. Their prices also please car owners. However, high weight and low characteristics negate all the advantages of this manufacturing method.

Casting is another matter. The process allows you to create products of any shape and texture. In terms of weight and strength, these products are slightly inferior to forged ones. But the ability to create a product of any size, width and shape quite cheaply makes these products extremely common on auto store shelves.

You can choose cast products for the Largus Cross machine from a wide range. Products from many brands of various colors, parameters and sizes are presented. The most famous companies Sparco, MOMO and Enkei are famous for their quality. You can choose cheaper products.

Alloy wheels are highly resistant to possible damage. Also among the advantages is light weight, due to which the car has greater dynamics and better handling.
