We independently control fuel consumption on a VAZ 2107

The fuel consumption of the VAZ 2107 per 100 km depends on many factors. These include the following: vehicle speed, engine type and fuel supply system. What is the fuel consumption of a VAZ 2107 with a carburetor? According to documents for this model of car, the average fuel consumption on the highway is 6.8 liters, if the speed is about 90 km/h. P When driving in city mode, this figure increases significantly - up to 9.6 liters.

What you need to know to reduce fuel consumption

Checking the air damper in the carburetor

Higher fuel consumption on a VAZ 2107 with a carburetor engine occurs if the air damper is not fully open. What is its correct position? Surely, an experienced driver knows that when the engine in the car is running, the choke in the carburetor must be in a vertical position. The choke handle must be fully extended towards you. Fuel consumption at idle speed in the VAZ 2107 can be reduced by specially setting the carburetor air damper to some extent. But such manipulation is not effective enough.

EngineConsumption (highway)Consumption (city)Consumption (mixed cycle)
1.3 l 4-mech (gasoline)7.8 l/100 km11.5 l/100 km10.5 l/100 km
1.4 l 5-mech (gasoline)9 l/100 km
1.5 l 5-mech (gasoline)5.2 l/100 km8.9 l/100 km7 l/100 km
1.6 l 5-mech (gasoline)8.5 l/100 km
1.3 l 5-mech (gasoline)9.5 l/100 km12.5 l/100 km11 l/100 km

The reasons for the high fuel consumption on VAZ 2107, the carburetor of which is in a faulty condition, speak for themselves. Young drivers do not always take the time to thoroughly check their car, and this can lead to negative consequences. Other factors of uneconomical fuel consumption may include:

  • incorrect speedometer readings;
  • malfunction of the device that measures the level of gasoline in the tank;
  • driver's driving style.

Help!!!

There is such a problem.

I have a VAZ2107 injector bought from the showroom, everything is normal, but there is a small drawback THE BAFT EATS A LOT 11-13 liters in the city (traffic jams are not big) and on the highway (using the economizer on green) 10-11 minutes is the most that I was able to squeeze out a speed of 90 km with it

I had a penny on the highway and ate 6.5 liters in the city at 8 max.

TELL ME WHAT IS WHAT OR THEY EAT SO MUCH

Thank you in advance

In your case, valve adjustment and firmware will help you.

What's the mileage? Until you break it in, it will be so.

Running in does not solve the issue. You have to solve the problem yourself. Tested many times.

not after the break-in, there will still be less to eat. And flashing the ECU is already a radical method. You can reduce the consumption tremendously, but it (the car) will become as stupid as a Siberian felt boot. Pressing your slippers will make your leg ache, but it won’t move at all. So I personally wouldn’t flash it. Moreover, the car is new)))

How does he decide? After 8-10 thousand, consumption will return to normal, i.e. will fit into the passport data - 8.5 l/100 km. This is the 6th engine, it has always been gluttonous and 8-9 liters is a good indicator for it.

There was a client today. Complaints about consumption. VAZ 2107 mileage 8t.km, 12l/100. Firmware and valve adjustment.

I called in the evening and said the fuel consumption was 9 liters. And he asks to take off, he has already been caught by traffic cops, he barely got away with it, according to the radar, 140 km/h. and this is not a chapel, I’m just starting to get a taste for it.

Draw your own conclusion.

Of course, no one canceled the run-in, and a good run-in can take 20 or 30 thousand, and will definitely bring a positive result, but the topicstarter wrote that it cannot squeeze out more than 90 km/h with a mileage of 6 thousand. This is not normal, so it is quite likely that and firmware. Moreover, the person who deals with this professionally talks about firmware. Even more so, maybe it’s worth optimizing the mixture formation for the period of the end of the break-in?

yes, in the heat of the attack we missed something...

The ECU is a self-learning thing, i.e. the program adapts to the quality of air, fuel in a given area, the driver’s driving style, etc. making amendments to the factory parameters. Sometimes she can “adapt”, i.e. make a mistake.

what you can do yourself: remove the terminal from the battery for 3-5 minutes, the adaptation parameters will be erased and everything will start from scratch.

If it doesn’t help, then go to a smart (thinking) diagnostician.

Hello ! If I understand correctly from the above, there is a lot of consumption and does not develop speed, only 90, there is another reason - the catalyst plays an important role in gasoline consumption, it clogs differently for everyone at different kilometers and the car starts to eat and not go, according to Essentially, a check should light up, the so-called engine malfunction indicator, but it happens that the sensor in the catalytic converter does not work and you cannot determine what the reason is, this reason is revealed very simply, you need to check the temperature of the exhaust tract, it heats up to red hot, the carpet in my trunk actually started to melt , can be eliminated to some extent, you just need to remove the catalyst and punch a hole inside it, or pull out all the contents from it, depending on its design, maybe the ceramic mesh can be hollowed out very well with a crowbar, or just punch a hole in the metal

in fact, the so-called engine malfunction indicator should light up, but it happens that the sensor in the catalyzer does not work and you cannot determine the reason,

If the DC is not working properly, the “Check” will definitely light up!

it gets red hot

Misfires contributed to this!

you need to remove the catalyst and punch a hole inside it or pull out all the contents from it

And eliminate the cause of the omissions!

Could the misfire be caused by stuck valves? and not a single one with a normal gap!

VAZ 21074i 2007 The same problem, the beast eats 12-13 liters in the city!!! I adjusted the valves at 29 thousand, now it’s 32. Adjusting the valves didn’t really help, should I just flash it??? And that the firmware will reduce my consumption by 3-4 liters???? :dntknw:

main reasons for high consumption

1) dirty filters, air, fuel, and in the fuel pump in the gas tank

2) bad, unusable spark plugs, high voltage wires

3) malfunction of sensors, for example a mass air flow sensor, it greatly affects the flow rate, or another, for example a lambda probe

4) bad gasoline, flat tires

Have you been to the diagnostics for a long time? and everything that I mentioned was changed a long time ago?:

If you don’t know that the current sevens are Euro-3, which is what the sensor after the catalyst is responsible for, if you do this, then the brain will record the “not working” of the catalyst and will adjust the operation of the car to Euro-3, and without a catalyst it will be even worse.

You need to flash it for Euro-2 and only then remove the catalyst, but with a vehicle with a mileage of 6 thousand km, this will not help.

To clarify: was maintenance done at 2 thousand km? Why don't you apply for warranty? According to the official website, the seven should reach 150 km/h, although it will take off at that speed, but that’s another question
