Due to its dimensions, the Lada Vesta belongs to the B plus platform and, indeed, in many respects, it is several centimeters larger than its competitors. Chassis

Both machines are good and, importantly, simple. The chassis, first of all, does not differ in design. The cars in question use MacPherson struts and reliable torsion beams.

The Lada manufacturer took into account that the sedan will mainly travel on domestic roads. Therefore, the chassis was made strong, and the ground clearance was provided for high. At the same time, the car retained very decent handling.

Renault Logan cannot boast of the described versatility. However, although the car lacks cornering precision, its chassis is still surprisingly resilient, and therefore it will easily drive on our roads, as well as follow without difficulty, without slowing down, over potholes and even speed bumps.

Engines and resource

The French car entered the market with only two engines. Vesta has two Russian-developed engines, one of them is 1.6 liters and the other is 1.8 liters. In terms of power characteristics, Vesta is also ahead. Engine 106,122 horsepower, versus 82, 102 Loganovsky. The basic version 2180 is equipped with a 106 horsepower engine and the top version with 122 horsepower. At this point we give a plus to Lada Vesta.

Power unit

The first point that requires comparison is the power unit. The combination of engine and gearbox affects such important vehicle characteristics as acceleration, top speed and fuel consumption. The power unit determines the most important technical characteristics of the cars being compared, without which a full comparison of Lada Vesta and Renault Logan is impossible.

Having gone through a restyling, Logan returned to its fans in four main configuration parameters. There are two different engines - both produced by Renault. Both of them have a volume of 1.6 liters - but the first, with eight valves, produces 82 horsepower, and the other, with sixteen valves, produces 102 hp. Moreover, each engine can be equipped with a five-speed Euro transmission, both in the form of a manual transmission and in the form of a robotic automatic transmission (variator).

At the moment, the Lada Vesta in its various configurations has three types of engines. The first two, like those of the competitor, are eight- and sixteen-valve, with a volume of 1.6 liters, but manufactured by AvtoVAZ, and they have slightly greater power compared to the competitor - 87 and 106 horsepower, respectively. There is also the possibility of installing an imported engine from Nissan of the same volume with a capacity of 118 horsepower.

Some experts claim that as early as 2021, models equipped with the flagship 1.8-liter engine with 140 horsepower will appear on the market. This motor is also a product of a domestic automaker. There are some doubts about this: according to some information, this engine is planned to be used exclusively in the sports version of the Lada Vesta, as well as in the Cross station wagon and the extended Signature Vesta model with an increased level of comfort. Nothing has been said yet about the dates for installing such an engine on a sedan or hatchback.

The transmission, surprisingly, for the Lada Vesta is the same as for Renault - a five-speed “Euro”. For the basic and mid-range configurations there is a manual transmission, starting with some option packages for the “Comfort” configuration and up to the maximum configuration – a CVT automatic transmission.

Equipment and cost

The Vesta's configuration is superior to that of the Logan; it is equipped with four trim levels. The basic configuration of Logan is empty. You need to take it if you are really short on money. This configuration costs 419,000 rubles. Not enough for 2021.

If you compare the basic versions, Logan is only 900 rubles cheaper, but for this money you will get a very poor equipment of the car, and even with an 8-valve engine. Such configurations are usually purchased by people with a very limited budget or by organizations for company cars - taxis, delivery services, private security companies, etc. Vesta, for the money, will be noticeably better equipped.
