On the market you can also find inexpensive lubricants from little-known manufacturers, which, however, have a fairly high level of quality. The first step to preventing more serious failures was to change the engine oil with a product that is not suspected of being counterfeit and meets the required specifications/tolerances.

Preference was given to the all-season fully synthetic oil Liqui Moly Optimal 5W40 purchased at the company store. Its parameters correspond to the recommendations for the VAZ 21179 engine:

The product contains a package of anti-friction, anti-corrosion, detergent additives that prevent wear of friction surfaces and protect lubrication channels from rust, soot and sludge deposits.

Useful and suitable additives for the VAZ engine

The use of additives to clean injector nozzles and other components of the fuel system has become a mandatory therapeutic procedure when “treating” an engine for contamination.

It was possible to get rid of clogged injectors using the Liqui Moly Injection Reiniger Effectiv additive for effective primary cleaning of heavily contaminated fuel lines.

Subsequently, to the gas tank every 2000 km. preventive fuel additive Liqui Moly Benzin System Pflege was added. The additive protects the power system from corrosion and unwanted deposits when using low-quality fuel.

Features of oil change

Among drivers you can find some legends regarding oil changes that are not true:

1. You cannot fill in synthetic oil if the engine previously had mineral oil: this is not true. Today, synthetic oils contain polyalpolefins and polyesters, which are easily and without consequences mixed with other types of oils.
2. The engine must be flushed before adding new oil: this is not true. No more than 10% of the old oil remains in the engine, which mixes well with the new one.
3. The oil should be changed no more often than every 10,000-12,000 km: this is not true. The manufacturer recommends changing the oil every 5,000-7,000 km. With excessive use, the lubricating properties of the oil deteriorate, resulting in faster engine wear.
4. If the car is idle, then there is no need to change the oil: this is not correct. Even if the engine is not running, the oil forms insoluble sediments inside itself, which have a harmful effect on the engine. Therefore, even if the car is not actively used, the oil should be changed at least once a year.

The original brake fluid from Lada is not available in every region, so many car owners actively use a foreign alternative.
